How the math works
Samesy Day converts each birthday into days lived. For you, one lived day counts as one human day. For pets, each lived day moves through a human-equivalent aging curve, then the site searches forward until those two day totals meet.
- Dogs Most people know the 7-to-1 shortcut. Samesy Day stays close to it, with a small puppy-years bump and a breed-size nudge: small dogs a bit slower, large dogs a bit faster.
- Cats A common rough conversion for cats is 1 cat year is about 15 human years, 2 cat years is about 24 human years, then each additional cat year adds about 4 human years.
- Dates The answer is the first calendar day when your pet's modeled age catches your actual days lived.
